"The Day is done" analysis
One of the primary subjects in Fireside Poetry is domestic life. In the poem "The Day is Done" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow he focuses on this by describing how humans feel at the end of the day trying to have the most relaxing state possible before going to bed. However, Longfellow informs us that it's hard because feeling of sadness and longing starts to drift into your spirit. So, how would his audience can get rid of that feeling? Longfellow explains that the way he would get rid of it is by listening to poetry. However, it would have to be true poetry that came from the poet's heart and have to quiet his beast within. Thanks to this, he could complete every human's daily goal, getting ultimate tranquility, and his day would finally be done.
