Literally Devices "Reward"
Euphuism – Kevin Young practices the use of euphuism in his poem “Reward”. He does this when instead of writing slaves, he wrote “goods”, which is a milder word. He uses this word instead because he’s talking in the perspective of a slave master who has a runway slave. Therefore, Young is trying to make a point that this is how they viewed slaves as, not people but goods.
