Romanticism
The Romanticism movement is thought to be the largest artistic movement in the late 1700s. Influences from this movement spread across continents and every artistic discipline in the mid-nineteenth century. Romantic poets focused on individualism, reverence for the natural world, idealism, physical and emotional passion, and an interest in the mystic and supernatural. Poets from this movement include Eager Allen Poe, William Wordsworth, and Victor Hugo.
