"destiny" analysis
In the poem "Destiny" it is clear that the poet, Haki Madhubuti, is trying to reach out to all African Americans through the metaphors that he wrote. Madhubuti wants African Americans to succeed in life and follow what they're actually destined to do. He wants the reader to understand this and that African Americans can do whatever is humanly possible in this world. In the last line, Madhubuti writes, "Capture tomorrow." All he wants is for his race, his people, to become great individuals and reach for the stars, which is what every black arts poet writes about and want.
